Masunaga is Japan's oldest optical manufacturer, founded in 1905 by Gozaemon Masunaga in Fukui prefecture — which today produces 95% of Japanese eyewear. Each frame undergoes over 200 stages of manual craftsmanship, from hand-cut acetate to titanium hinges assembled with 0.05mm tolerances. The Masunaga philosophy is captured in the Japanese concept of “monozukuri”: the art of making things with supreme care.
